For J.K. Rowling, writing is her greatest pleasure. She wrote her first book (still unpublished) at the
age of six. J.K. Rowling got the idea for the Harry Potter books while ona train from Manchester to London. When she began
writing the first Harry Potter book in a cafe in Edinburgh, Scotland, Rowling was on welfare with an infant daughter. Helped
by by a grant from the Scottish Arts Council, Rowling took five years to finish, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.During
that time she was also planning the six sequels, one for each of Harry's year at Hogwarts.
Rowling is a graduate of Exeter University and a former teacher. In addition to the British Isles, she also
lived in Portugal. Her favorite holiday is halloween,whan she holds a big party for her friends and their children.
